At the recent World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships the GBR M60 sprinters brought home 6 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals, and a new 200m world record.

In the 400m, John Wright took Gold in (55.65s) and Michael Vassiliou Silver in (59.24s). They were joined in the semi finals by Stuart Lynn (1:00.40), Peter Ilo (1:01.16) and Colin Edwards (1:01.68). Also running in the heats was Kevin Pye (1:06.66).
In the 200m, John Wright took Gold in a new world record time of (24.28s). John was joined in the final by Michael Vassiliou (26.2s) and Pat Logan (26.21s), and in the semi finals by Stuart Lynn (26.94s), Peter Ilo (26.99s) and Paul Guest (27.48). Also running in the heats were Andy Hunter (27.91s), Glen Reddington (29.17), Ian Crawley (30.31s) and Dion Parambalana (30.41s).
In the 60m, Pat Logan was the sole GBR representative in the final and took Bronze in (7.9s). Pat was joined in the heats by Paul Guest (8.37s), Glen Reddington (9.13s) and Sholto Douglas Home (9.26s).
In the 60m Hurdles, Des Wilkinson took the bronze in (9.62s), and was joined in the final by Neil Tunstall (9.71s), Glen Reddington (10.00s) and Ian Crawley (10.67s).
In the 4x200m relay, John Wright, Pat Logan, Michael Vassiliou and Peter Ilo took Gold in (1:43.66).
In the 4x200m mixed relay, Paul Guest, Christine Anthony, Janice Pryce and Stuart Lynn took Silver in (2:00.62).
The GBR M60 category is exceptionally strong and very good company to keep, long may it continue. ![]()
