It was great to meet up with my fellow M60 athletes from across the country at the annual Inter-Area competition. As proof that we were indeed there (and not just making it up from the comfort of our sofas), I’ve attached some evidence of our participation. Despite less than ideal conditions, there were some cracking performances all around, long may it continue!
A top tip for future competitors: getting up at 5am and driving four hours to the track is not the best race prep. Unless, of course, you enjoy the sensation of running with wooden legs, in which case, by all means, skip the hotel and embrace the suffering.
Sadly, and though I didn’t realise it at the time, this would be my last competitive 200m race, and my last race without pain, for 2023.

The 400m race was a good battle between Michael Vassilou, Richard White and Myself, with Michael taking the honours.

Whilst I didn’t run in the 100m myself, it was a great race.
