Since our formation in 2017, Stuart Lynn Consulting has helped a number of clients successfully deliver a wide range of key business initiatives. These include formulation of strategy and business plans, organisational design and change programmes, major programme trouble shooting & recovery, technical due diligence, and executive leadership and development.
Prior to setting up his consulting practice, Stuart Lynn enjoyed a successful career in digital technology and leadership across public, private and third sector organisations. A significant part of his private sector career was with The Sage Group where he held a number of senior roles including UK CTO & CIO and Global Executive Vice President & Chief Product Officer.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer for Sage Group PLC, Stuart was responsible for the Product Management, Product Engineering and Service Operations of Sage’s global cloud and on premise business management software portfolio. He was also the executive sponsor and leader of a number of global business change initiatives. During this time he was able to gain valuable experience of implementing wide scale organisational change using operational diagnostics, benchmarking, organisation and operating model design, and change execution.
As a CIO he ran the IT Infrastructure and Services for Sage’s UKI business and led several IT transformation programmes such as enterprise systems consolidation and the creation of a new cloud services operations function.
Having led a global Research & Development function of 2600 people across 23 countries worldwide, he possesses vast experience of leadership at scale and developing and implementing Accounting, Payroll, HR, ERP (Sage, Microsoft Navision and SAP) solutions across a range of business sectors, including Manufacturing, Distribution, Health Care and Construction. His teams also developed and ran the platforms for PCI regulated Card Payments and FCA regulated Bank Payments business units, and he is a strong advocate of emergent technologies such as Big Data, Machine Learning, Bots, AI and Collective Intelligence.
As part of his role, Stuart was also the executive sponsor and leader of a number of global business change initiatives. Working alongside change specialists he was able to gain valuable experience of implementing wide scale organisational change using operational diagnostics, benchmarking, operating model design, and change execution.
Stuart is a native of the North East of England and he is proud to be a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Technology at the University of Sunderland. He is the founder of TechNorthEast an organisation that works alongside regional development organisations, business owners and large corporations to see the North East recognised and grow as a centre of excellence for Digital technology.
Stuart prides himself on being a customer champion and strong business leader with a rare blend of technology and commercial acumen. He is currently a Non Executive Director with Newcastle Building Society, Newcastle Strategic Solutions and Newcastle Systems Management.
